Elly De La Cruz erupts for a 5-category masterpiece, Juan Soto pushes through forearm tightness, and Kodai Senga lands back on the IL. Plus a Yankees calf strain, a Cardinals call-up, and a Blue Jays closer transition worth tracking.

1. MONITOR Juan Soto's Forearm — He's Still Producing

Per @JonHeyman and @AnthonyDiComo, Soto (NYM) underwent an MRI Monday that revealed no structural damage to his right forearm; he's been dealing with tightness since Friday and will DH while receiving treatment. He responded by going 1-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI Tuesday, pushing his season line to .324/.419 with a .878 OPS in 43 PA. The fantasy read: don't panic-sell. Soto is swinging freely enough to leave the yard, and the Mets are managing his throwing rather than shelving him. If anything, this is a buy-low window if a leaguemate sees "MRI" and blinks. Keep him active, but check the lineup card each morning until the DH designation is lifted.

2. STREAM Trey Yesavage Off the IL

The Blue Jays activated RHP Trey Yesavage from the 15-day IL Tuesday, and he immediately delivered: 5.1 IP, 3 K, 0 ER and the W against a live opponent. His season line is now a sparkling 0.00 ERA and 0.75 WHIP across 5.1 IP — small sample, obviously, but the stuff played. Yesavage is rostered in shallow formats only and profiles as a high-K arm worth grabbing in 12-team leagues before his next turn. The caveat is workload: Toronto will manage him carefully after the IL stint, so expect 5-inning leashes for the next few starts. Add him as a back-end SP5/SP6 with strikeout upside.

3. ADD Christian Scott as Senga Hits the IL

The Mets placed RHP Kodai Senga on the 15-day IL retroactive to April 27 with lumbar spine inflammation and recalled RHP Christian Scott from Syracuse. Per @AnthonyDiComo, Scott slots into the rotation Friday at the Angels — a fantasy-friendly matchup in a non-hitter park. Scott was the Mets' top pitching prospect before injuries derailed his 2024-25, and a Halos road start is the right re-debut spot. He's available in nearly every Yahoo league. Grab him for the Friday start; if the velocity and slider are intact, he's a hold. If they're not, you've spent a FAB dollar and learned cheaply.

4. PIVOT Around Giancarlo Stanton's Calf

The Yankees placed DH Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day IL retroactive to April 25 with a right calf strain, recalling 3B Max Schuemann. Per @BryanHoch, Stanton "isn't in the mood to search for silver linings" — read: this isn't a minimum stay. Calf strains in 35-year-old sluggers historically linger. The replacement at-bats won't go to Schuemann in a meaningful fantasy sense; instead, watch for Ben Rice and the Yankees' left-handed bats to absorb DH reps. Stanton owners in shallow leagues can cut; in deeper formats, IL-stash and reassess in two weeks. Don't hold a roster spot hostage waiting on a vague calf timeline.

5. BUY Elly De La Cruz After a Monster Night

Elly De La Cruz (CIN) went 3-for-4 with a homer, 4 RBI, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases Tuesday — a true 5-category line. He's the rare player who can win you a week single-handedly, and nights like this remind managers why he was a top-10 pick. There's no "buy" discount here, but if a frustrated manager in your league has been holding him through a slow patch, this is the moment to check in. The 2-SB game is the tell: when the legs are active, the ceiling unlocks. Hold tight if you have him; offer a premium if you don't.

6. GRAB Travis Bazzana — Guardians Call-Up

The Guardians selected the contract of 2B Travis Bazzana from Triple-A Columbus and optioned Juan Brito to make room. Bazzana was the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, and Cleveland doesn't burn service time without intent — he's expected to play. He carries no MLB stat line yet, so this is purely a speculative add, but the pedigree (plus hit tool, plus approach, secondary power) and the clear runway at second base make him a priority FAB target in 12-team and deeper formats. Add now and let the playing time confirm the investment.

7. HOLD Jeff Hoffman Through the Demotion

Per @KeeganMatheson, Jeff Hoffman (TOR) needed just 10 pitches for a clean 7th inning Tuesday with two strikeouts — his second appearance since being moved out of the closer role. Hoffman's season line is ugly (7.59 ERA, 2.06 WHIP in 10.2 IP), but the 20.25 K/9 says the stuff is intact. The SAVES LAST 7 DAYS block doesn't yet show a clear Toronto replacement getting consistent ninths, so this isn't a permanent demotion in roto leagues. If Hoffman strings together clean innings, he could climb back. In saves+holds formats, he's still useful. In pure-saves leagues, monitor weekly — but don't drop him for a middle reliever yet.

8. STREAM Jesús Luzardo's Phillies Bounce-Back

Luzardo (PHI) was electric Tuesday: 7 IP, 8 K, 0 ER in a win opposite the Giants. The catch: his season ERA is 6.91 with a 1.54 WHIP across 27.1 IP, and his K/9 of 10.87 has been undermined by walks and hard contact. Tuesday was the first start that matched the underlying stuff to the results. Don Mattingly's first game as Phillies manager (per @BNightengale) may bring a different rhythm. The framing for fantasy: this is a sell-high spot if a leaguemate is desperate for SP help. The strikeouts are real, but the WHIP is going to hurt if you hold through three more starts. Move him for a steadier mid-rotation arm.

9. NOTE the One-Start Week for Clay Holmes

Per @AnthonyDiComo, the Mets' rotation turn is set: Holmes Tuesday, Peterson Wednesday, Peralta Thursday, Christian Scott Friday, McLean Saturday. Holmes already made his start Tuesday (6 IP, 6 K, 0 ER, W) — meaning this is a ONE-start week for him in the current fantasy window. His season 2.10 ERA, 1.03 WHIP across 30 IP have been excellent in the rotation conversion, but you only get one outing this week. If you're streaming SP slots, slot accordingly. Next week he'd line up to face the Angels on the road — circle that as a likely two-start opportunity if the schedule holds.

10. WATCH Junior Caminero's Jaw Day-to-Day

Per @TBTimes_Rays, Caminero (TB) fouled a ball into his own face Tuesday and exited the game; the team confirmed a right jaw contusion, listed day-to-day. The replacement reps went to Williamson at 2B with Palacios shifting to 3B. Richie Palacios (TB) is the more interesting fantasy ripple — he's hit .263/.417 with a .785 OPS and 3 SB across 48 PA, with last_7d_starts of 3. If Caminero misses a game or two, Palacios should see four straight starts and is a deep-league add for OBP and steals. Caminero owners should expect a 1-3 day absence rather than an IL stint, but confirm the lineup before locks each day.
