Judge Reinstated, Returns Tonight vs. Colorado

Aaron Judge (98% owned) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday night, on a Yankees off day, and will play tonight in the opener of a three-game home series against the Rockies. RHP Chase Hampton was designated for assignment in the corresponding move, with Elmer Rodriguez optioned Sunday.
He has missed 84 games. Judge last played May 31 and went on the 15-day IL June 5, retroactive to June 2, with a stress fracture in his right rib — an injury he believes originated on a diving catch attempt in right field on April 26. He played through it for more than a month, which explains the .528 OPS he posted over his final 57 plate appearances. New York transferred him to the 60-day IL on July 18.
The production before the injury is the reason to start him immediately: .248/.375/.533 with 17 homers and a 150 wRC+ in 59 games. As he'd insisted throughout, he's skipping a minor-league rehab assignment, having taken on-field batting practice repeatedly in San Diego last weekend and faced live pitching Monday.
New York has 19 games left, chasing Tampa Bay in the East while holding off Boston.
Action: HOLD and start him tonight. Expect some DH days early as the Yankees manage the conditioning gap, but there's no reason to bench a 150-wRC+ bat in September. If he's somehow on waivers in your league, he's the most valuable claim of the season's final month.
Ohtani Back in the Lineup, Hitter Only the Rest of the Way

Shohei Ohtani (100% owned) returned to the Dodgers' lineup after a four-game absence, and Los Angeles has now confirmed what Dave Roberts hinted at Sunday: Ohtani will be a hitter only for the remainder of 2026 as the club manages the knee and biceps issues.
Action: HOLD and start him. This finalizes the pitching side — if you were carrying him in a pitcher slot or holding a spot open for a mound return, release it now. He's a bat for the rest of the season and the playoffs.
Luzardo Throws First Career Shutout in 1-0 Win Over Atlanta

Jesús Luzardo threw the first complete game and first shutout of his career, beating the Braves 1-0 at Citizens Bank Park on two hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts on 109 pitches, 78 for strikes. Kyle Schwarber's eighth-inning solo homer, his 43rd, was the game's only run.
The underlying numbers were better than the line. Luzardo generated 23 whiffs on 59 swings — a 39% whiff rate — and Atlanta chased 46% of his pitches out of the zone. He entered the eighth at 84 pitches. Ronald Acuña Jr. was retired on one pitch in each of his first two at-bats.
The stakes matter here: Philadelphia entered five games behind Atlanta in the NL East and won to split the four-game series, cutting the deficit to four with three more head-to-head games in Atlanta this weekend. The Phillies (81-63) hold a 5.5-game cushion for a postseason spot with 17 to play.
At 1 hour, 51 minutes, it was the shortest nine-inning Phillies game since July 4, 1989, and the fastest game in MLB this season. Luzardo is now 14-5 with a 2.87 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP and 221 strikeouts over 178.2 innings — fifth in baseball in strikeouts, and a career high.
Action: HOLD and start him without qualification. He's a top-15 fantasy starter having the best season of his career; he is not available in any league of consequence.
Burnes Debuts Today vs. Kansas City

Corbin Burnes makes his season debut today against the Royals after completing his build-up in a bridge game. Arizona is 76-67 and chasing a wild card.
Set expectations low for the first outing. Burnes hasn't pitched in a big-league game since June 2025 — Tommy John surgery, then a shoulder complication that pushed the timeline back twice. Reporting has pointed to roughly a 60-pitch limit, which is three to four innings with a bullpen game behind him.
Action: WATCH — Bench today. A 60-pitch cap means no win equity and limited strikeouts. Add him if he's available, but evaluate his second start before trusting him in a lineup.
Cameron Throws Six Scoreless for Kansas City

Noah Cameron (50% owned) threw six shutout innings with seven strikeouts, and gained 7.2 points on the add tracker.
Action: ADD in 12-team and deeper leagues. He's a starter, not a bullpen piece, and at 50% ownership half of leagues can still claim a back-end rotation arm throwing shutout ball.
Luzardo Outduels Bello as Red Sox Beat Angels

Brayan Bello held the Angels scoreless through five innings on 103 pitches to earn his first win as a starter since April 12, as Boston beat Los Angeles 5-2 for its fifth straight win. Jarren Duran hit his 20th home run and Adley Rutschman added a three-run shot off Pesky's Pole.
Action: HOLD Bello — a five-month win drought ending doesn't change his profile, and 103 pitches for five innings is inefficient. Stream him in favorable matchups only. Duran and Rutschman are both rolling and belong in lineups.
Grayson Rodriguez Roughed Up in Boston

Grayson Rodriguez allowed five earned runs in four innings and took the loss, struggling with command from the first batter. The Angels struck out 15 times and managed six hits.
Action: DROP in 12-team leagues. The comeback from a lost 2025 is a real long-term story, but on a team more than 30 games under .500 he's unrosterable in redraft. Dynasty managers hold.
Joe Ryan Returns, Takes the Loss

Joe Ryan returned from a month-long absence and allowed three runs over four innings with seven strikeouts in Minnesota's 5-4 loss to Detroit. Riley Greene and Kevin McGonigle homered for the Tigers, with Greene driving in two.
Action: WATCH Ryan — seven strikeouts in four innings is the encouraging part; the four-inning length is the limit. Give him one more start before activating him in a weekly league. HOLD Greene, who is squarely in a hot streak.
