It was the sixth consecutive start in which Detmers has gone six or more innings while allowing one run or fewer — the first time any pitcher in Angels history has done that. His ERA since the All-Star break is a major-league-best 1.37 across 10 starts, with 68 strikeouts against 10 walks in 59.1 innings. His season mark is down to 3.32.
The opponent context sharpens it: Boston entered 21-13 against left-handed starters with the fifth-best team OPS in baseball against lefties. Detmers also extended his scoreless streak at Fenway to at least 17.2 innings, making him the second visiting pitcher since 2010 to reach that mark, and he outdueled former teammate Patrick Sandoval.
Two notes worth carrying. The 112 pitches were a career high and are tied for the eighth-highest total by any starter this season. And this was only his first win since Aug. 15 — he's 2-2 over these 10 dominant starts because the Angels hadn't scored four runs in a Detmers start since before the break until Tuesday. Zach Neto went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer to change that.

Chandler Fans Eight as Pirates Rout White Sox

The 23-year-old is 10-10 with a 4.25 ERA and roughly 160 strikeouts. The swing-and-miss is why you own him; the ERA is why he's only 21% owned.

Action: ADD in 12-team and deeper leagues if you need strikeouts. Treat him as a matchup arm rather than an automatic start — and note the Sunday assignment against Chicago is a tougher draw than this one, so weigh it before slotting him into a playoff week.
Skubal Goes 7.1 on 94 Pitches

Tarik Skubal (99.4% owned) worked 7.1 innings on 94 pitches, allowing four hits and two earned runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Fabian Ardaya noted the profile that defines him: he gets chase when he needs it and essentially never walks anyone.
Action: HOLD — He's a two-time reigning AL Cy Young winner and a top-three fantasy starter. Start him every time. Expect the Dodgers to manage his September workload with October in view.
Burnes Throws Three Scoreless in Long-Awaited Return

Corbin Burnes (13% owned) delivered three scoreless innings in his season debut at Kauffman Stadium, allowing two hits with two strikeouts and two walks on 57 pitches, 35 for strikes. The plan was roughly 60 pitches and Arizona stuck to it.
It had been 424 days since his last big-league pitch. Burnes made 11 starts for Arizona in 2025 before injuring his elbow on June 1 and undergoing Tommy John surgery; he'd targeted a return around this year's All-Star break before a right teres major strain in June pushed everything back. His build-up was brief — 17 pitches over two scoreless innings in a lone rehab start on Aug. 29, then 43 pitches across three innings in a bridge game plus seven more from the bullpen.
The 31-year-old is a four-time All-Star and the 2021 NL Cy Young winner, signed for six years and $210 million before 2025. Arizona is 77-68 with a half-game lead over San Diego for the third NL wild card.
Action: HOLD, and ADD in 12-team leagues where he's available. Be realistic about the runway: with roughly 17 games left he gets maybe three more starts, each likely capped short of a quality start. This is a stuff play for the fantasy playoffs, not a rotation anchor.
Burke Matches Career Worsts in Four-Out Outing
