Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These guidelines cover comments on player profiles. They are part of our Terms of Use, written in plain language so it’s clear what we expect before you post.

The idea

Comments on a player’s profile are for fantasy hockey talk about that player: his performance, his fantasy value, your opinion on him, and yes, trash talk. “He’s been brutal on the power play” or “worst signing of the summer” are exactly the kind of comments this section is for, even when they’re blunt. The line is between criticizing a player’s game and attacking the person, or using the section for something it isn’t for.

Welcome

  • Strong opinions about how a player, line or team is performing.
  • Trash talk aimed at performance, not the person.
  • Fantasy advice, lineup questions, and debate about roster decisions.
  • Disagreement with another commenter, argued on the merits.

Not allowed

  • Harassment, hate speech, or abuse directed at a person or group.
  • Threats of violence or harm, toward anyone.
  • Sexual content, or sexualizing a real person.
  • Sharing someone else’s personal information without their consent - an address, phone number, workplace, or anything that could be used to find or contact them (doxxing).
  • Spam, advertising, or promoting a product, service or channel.
  • Betting tips, “guaranteed” picks, or soliciting people to a sportsbook or tipster service.
  • Links of any kind.
  • Impersonating another person, team or organization.
  • Comments with nothing to do with hockey or the player on the page.

How moderation works

Every comment is checked by an automated system before anyone else sees it. Most comments that follow these guidelines are approved right away. A comment that clearly breaks a rule is declined, and you’ll see why. A comment the system isn’t sure about is held for a person to review before it goes live - we’d rather take a short pause on a borderline comment than let something through that shouldn’t be there.

A comment that gets enough reports from other readers is also held for review, even after it was approved. The operator makes the final call on anything held, and can approve it, remove it, or leave it removed.

Display names

Pick a display name the first time you comment. It’s shown next to everything you post, so it’s checked for the same things your comments are - no slurs, no impersonating someone else, nothing offensive - and it has to be one nobody else on the site is already using.

Reporting a comment

If you see a comment that breaks these guidelines, open its menu and choose Report, then pick a reason. You can report a comment once. Reports from several different readers on the same comment send it to the operator for review.

Blocking another commenter

If you’d rather not see a particular commenter’s comments, open their comment’s menu and choose Block user. You will no longer see their comments on any player profile. Blocking is just for your own view - it doesn’t notify them, and it doesn’t remove their comment for anyone else. It can be undone from the same menu.

Deleting your own comment

You can delete anything you posted, any time, from its menu. It’s removed from the list right away.

If you think we got it wrong

Moderation, including the automated part, isn’t perfect. If a comment of yours was held or removed and you think that was a mistake, email b.lands16@gmail.com and we’ll take a look.

More

These guidelines work together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which explain the legal details, including the license you grant us to show what you post and how your display name and comments are handled.
