Methodology
Hitters: composite score = OPS Δ × 1.0 + AVG Δ × 0.6 + HR/PA Δ × 3.0. Eligible when window PA ≥ 10.
Pitchers: composite score = ERA Δ × −0.10 + WHIP Δ × −0.25 + K/9 Δ × 0.05. Eligible when window IP ≥ 3.0. ERA and WHIP are sign-flipped so positive score = hot.
Season baselines come from minor_league_stats; window aggregates from minor_league_game_logs. Players who have graduated to MLB (players.level = ‘MLB’) are excluded. When a baseline is missing (player only appears in the window), a league-average fallback is used and the row stays visible — small samples can be noisy.
