Bat Speed & Swing Quality
Statcast bat tracking — bat speed, squared-up%, blast% and swing run value. These are power leading indicators: a hitter adding bat speed and blasts before the results follow is a swing-quality buy-low; one losing bat speed is an early sell.
Blast = a fast, well-squared swing (the highest-damage contact). Squared-up = how much of possible exit velo the swing captured. Run value is total swing-decision + contact value. League avg bat speed ~71 mph; blast .
